The Stagg Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) was formed in 2013 as part of Stagg High School’s 50th anniversary, marked with a celebration in spring 2014 at the University of Chicago, where Amos Alonzo Stagg coached and taught.
Originally known as the Stagg Community Organization (SCO), the organization’s goal was to bring together community members, parents, faculty and staff to promote positive change at Stagg. The PTO continues with that mission, as well as hosting fundraisers, teacher appreciation lunches and meetings with speakers of interest to Stagg parents. The group also offers scholarship opportunities to students of members. We are also creating service hour opportunities at Stagg starting Fall of 2019, for families, students and staff to come together and serve making a positive impact in the lives of others. We will have different projects such as collecting food for military veterans, collecting toys for kids sick in the hospital and kids in need and even collecting warm winter items for the homeless.
These last 4 years of high school will go by so fast and truly connecting with other parents and staff and resources is so needed to plant that seed in our children so they can continue to be great members of communities all over. When we create opportunities and bring resources to you it helps with organizing all the tools needed for our kids to succeed. Together we will make a big difference! Thank you so much for taking the time to learn more about us and we would love to connect and grow even more!
